French Club hosts Crepe Day

The French club is having their Crepe Day on November 17th in the Senior Lounge during both seminars.

Crepes are very thin and delicate pancakes originating from France that can be eaten either savory or sweet. Each year the French Club has Crepe Day which is when they sell crepes, one for two dollars, and they come with a variety of toppings including nutella, fresh fruit, powdered sugar, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and lemon wedges.

Mrs. Arnold is in charge of Crepe Day and her favorite part of Crepe Day is bringing awareness to the French program. St. Ursula used to have French Food Day, but, due to lack of interest, there was a lot of food waste. French Food Day was put to rest, but Mrs. Arnold said, “French Day must  go on!”

Mrs. Arnold started Crepe Day to bring attention to the French club and was surprised by the multitudes of students that bought crepes.

Since Crepe Day has grown so much, she relies heavily on her French club, consisting of 43 members, to support Crepe Day as they will be the ones making crepes as well as bringing in many of the supplies needed.

Mrs. Arnold said that there are many parts that go into Crepe Day such as making batter, advertising, distributing responsibilities, bringing toppings, and bringing paper products.

While Mrs. Arnold is the main coordinator of this event she says that Mrs. Lehenbauer, a French teacher at St, Ursula, is very helpful when it comes to preparing for Crepe Day. She comes in with pre-made crepes as well as batter to get the line moving.

The profits of Crepe Day will go to the French club which may fund a holiday party for French club members and they will hold more meetings to see what else they are interested in investing in, such as donating to a charity. 


Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
