SUA’s Yearbooks Through the Years

By Sheridan Johnson ‘24 and Grace Rawlins ‘26

Yearbooks at SUA have been a long-standing tradition where the students receive the yearbooks at the start of the next school year. The yearbook is worked on all year long with students taking pictures at every school event so girls can look back on the year.

The yearbook is run by seniors throughout the year and moderator by Ms. Caroline Jardine. The yearbook committee is made up of girls committed to making the yearbook the best it can be every year.

Many students at SUA said the yearbook is something that a lot of them look forward to looking back on all the memories that they made, especially the seniors reminiscing on their last year of high school.

Not many people know what all goes into making the yearbook every year, Senior Stella Soeder talked about how her experience has been working on the yearbook this year.

“It has been super fun and rewarding and being able to grow closer with my classmates and talking to people I might not have always talked to,” said Soeder.

With making a yearbook that comes with it challenges, when asked about the challenges of the yearbook Ms. Jardine stated

“Time is the biggest challenge, this year it has been a lot more manageable having two yearbook staffs broken up into two semesters. But when we only have one class in the second semester, like the past six years, it requires a lot of time outside of class to work on the yearbook”.

Ms. Jardine also commented on how much she enjoys seeing her students interpret different themes for the yearbook in ways she wouldn’t have thought of. Her favorite past themes include Tales of Saint Ursula inspired by storybooks and Stranger Times inspired by the show “Stranger Things”.

Talking to past graduates, the yearbooks hold such fond memories of their time here at SUA. It gives them a way to reminisce about their time spent here. Memories can last a lifetime and yearbooks are a perfect way to keep memories alive.

Arrows get ready because with the end of the school year approaching, the yearbook staff will be completing the 2023-2024 school yearbooks. A chance for all SUA students to look back on all the amazing memories made this year.
