TOLEDO, OH – Set to take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024, the Arrows Booster Club has organized the annual Booster Club Night. The theme of 2024’s event is ‘90s Night, featuring live music from the popular local ‘90s cover band “The Skittle Bots.”
The purpose of the Arrows Booster Club’s events are to raise money for each of St. Ursula’s athletics programs. This event is intended for adults-only, and attendees are encouraged to dress up in ‘90s-themed costumes. Alumnae, current or former parents and friends of SUA are welcome to attend.
“The St. Ursula Academy Arrows Booster Club (ABC) supports the mission of St. Ursula Academy by promoting high quality athletics and providing assistance in the development of young women and all athletic teams in their pursuit of excellence,” states a message on the Arrows Booster Club page.
Through the generosity of donors, recent accomplishments of the Arrows Booster Club include the installation of AEDs, a new scoreboard and soccer goals for Strasser Field as well as various other improvements. Besides assisting athletic programs, money raised by the Arrows Booster Club helped fund the resurfacing of the Field House floor—beneficial for the entire school community who use the space.
Michelle Moses, the Director of Donor Services and Special Events, explained the crucial role of the Arrows Booster Club. According to Moses, the annual Booster Club nights began in 2013. Although the event has taken different formats throughout the years, the goal of funding SUA athletics has remained constant.
“This is the biggest fundraiser for the Boosters, and it’s not only to raise the money, but to bring people together,” explained Moses.
The board of the Arrows Booster Club is comprised of about 15 current parents and some administrators, who advise and plan out these events. When asked about the planning process of these Booster Club nights, Moses said that they begin almost immediately “after the [prior] event is over…” by discussing successes and potential improvements.
“It’s a community builder… so it really brings a wide range of people together out to have a fun night to support St. Ursula and it has grown tremendously,” said Moses about the event’s expanding impact.
A few notable raffle items include two third row tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and a two carat diamond. Admission starts at $40 for an individual or $75 for a couple, and tickets are sold online until Thursday, March 7.
